Focus and Scope

As an open access refereed journal Cognitariat hopes to offer an open platform to all scholars, students, and activists who have or are laboring as contingent and temporary workers within the current regime of the so-called cognitive capital.

We treat the terms “cognitive capital” and "cognitariat" under erasure and encourage innovative theoretical and empirical studies that aim to challenge the normative drive of neoliberal capital as related to, or beyond, the nature of labor and work in the current stage of capital.

Essays can be informed by your personal experience, can attempt to theorize modes of resistance, and can be written in solidarity with all those who are oppressed and exploited.

Peer Review Process

All scholarly articles submitted to Cognitariat are subjected to a blind review by two reviewers, a process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are not revealed to each other. The review process usually takes from six to eight weeks but may take longer if the reviewers refer an article to a specialist.
